Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Global Islamic Economics Review (GIER) undergo a double-blind peer review process.
This ensures that both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review period.

Review Steps:

  1. Initial Screening:
The editorial board conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure the manuscript fits the journal’s scope and adheres to submission guidelines. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria are returned to authors for revision or rejected.
  2. Peer Review Assignment:
Qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic are assigned by the section editor.
  3. Double-Blind Review:
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who assess the quality, originality, clarity, and relevance of the work.
  4. Review Decision:
    Reviewers provide recommendations:
    • Accept as is
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Reconsider after major revisions
    • Reject
  5. Revision and Resubmission:
Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewer comments and resubmit within the given timeframe.
  6. Final Decision:
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after evaluating reviewer feedback and author revisions.
  7. Copyediting and Proofreading:
Accepted manuscripts undergo language editing and layout formatting before publication.
