Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to Global Islamic Economics Review (GIER) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of the published works.

Review Process

  1. Initial Screening
The editorial office reviews all submissions for scope, structure, and plagiarism (using plagiarism detection software). Manuscripts that do not meet the basic standards or are outside the journal’s focus will be rejected immediately or returned to the author for revision.
  2. Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during this process.
  3. Evaluation Criteria
    Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
    • Originality and contribution to the field
    • Clarity of objectives and methodology
    • Quality of data analysis and interpretation
    • Relevance to Islamic economics and finance
    • Strength of conclusion and academic writing
  4. Review Outcomes
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide one of the following:
    • Accept without revision
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Reconsider after major revision
    • Reject
  5. Revision and Resubmission
Authors are expected to revise the manuscript in accordance with reviewer feedback and resubmit within the specified time frame. Revised manuscripts may undergo another round of review before final acceptance.
  6. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding publication based on the reviewers’ reports and editorial evaluation.
  7. Publication Timeline
The average time from submission to the first decision is 4–6 weeks, and from acceptance to publication is 8–10 weeks.
