Author Guidelines

General Information

Global Islamic Economics Review (GIER) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Islamic Economics, Institut Agama Islam Pangeran Dharma Kusuma Indramayu, Indonesia.
The journal welcomes original research papers, conceptual papers, and reviews in the fields of Islamic economics, Islamic finance, Islamic banking, zakat and waqf management, and Sharia-based economic development.

Manuscripts submitted to GIER must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. The editorial team will conduct a plagiarism check before processing the manuscript for review.

???? Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the OJS submission system at the journal’s website.
  • The submission must be in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript is written in standard academic English or Bahasa Indonesia with correct grammar and style.
  • All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript should include the following components:

  1. Title
  • Written in Title Case (each major word capitalized).
  • Concise and informative, maximum 15 words.
  • Avoid abbreviations and formulas.
  1. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Full name(s) of author(s) without academic titles.
  • Institutional affiliation and email address.
  • Corresponding author must be clearly indicated.
  1. Abstract
  • Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia (if possible).
  • Contains 150–250 words summarizing the background, objectives, methods, results, and implications.
  • Include 3–5 keywords in alphabetical order, separated by commas.
  1. Introduction
  • Explain the research background, research gap, purpose, and significance.
  • Include a brief review of relevant literature.
  • State the research objective clearly.
  1. Literature Review (optional for short papers)
  • Discuss theoretical frameworks and prior studies relevant to the research problem.
  1. Research Method
  • Describe data sources, population and sample, instruments, analytical techniques, and research approach (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods).
  1. Results and Discussion
  • Present findings clearly using tables, figures, or graphs when necessary.
  • Provide an in-depth discussion comparing the results with previous studies.
  1. Conclusion and Recommendations
  • Summarize key findings and implications.
  • Suggest recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, or future research.
  1. References
  • References must follow APA 7th edition style.
  • Preferably include at least 20 references, 50% from the last 5 years, and from reputable journals or books.
  • Examples:

Tables and Figures

  • Tables should be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.) and have clear titles above them.
  • Figures should be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and labeled properly.
  • Source(s) of data should be mentioned below tables or figures.

Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to publication ethics as outlined in the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement of this journal.
All manuscripts will be checked using a plagiarism detection tool. Manuscripts with similarity above 25% will be rejected automatically.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting the manuscript, authors must ensure that:

  1. The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  3. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  4. The manuscript includes title, abstract, keywords, introduction, method, results, discussion, conclusion, and references.
  5. References are formatted according to the APA 7th edition style.
  6. The similarity index (plagiarism rate) is below 25%.
  7. The corresponding author’s name, affiliation, and email address are clearly indicated.
  8. Tables and figures are placed within the text (not in separate files).
  9. Authors agree to the journal’s copyright policy (CC BY 4.0 License).
